This is a great way breakfast to start your day off with. It’s quick, filling, and tastes amazing. In fact, this is what I have for breakfast most mornings myself.
-1/2 cup of oatmeal
-1 scoop of chocolate protein powder (any flavor will work, I just prefer chocolate. The protein powder I use for this recipe is Optimum Nutrition 100% Whey Gold Standard, Extreme Milk Chocolate)
-unsweetened almond milk (vanilla unsweetened milk is fine too)
-1 tablespoon of natural peanut butter
-1/2 cup of water
1. Place 1/2 cup of oats, 1/2 cup of water, scoop of chocolate protein powder in a bowl and mix thoroughly.
2. Place the mixture in the microwave for 2 minutes. After the 2 minutes are up, the mixture will puff up like a cake. Now crumble it up with a spoon like below
3. Pour some unsweetened almond on top, mix in a tablespoon of peanut butter, and then enjoy!
-Be VERY careful about the kind of oatmeal you use. Go for ones that ONLY have “oats” as the ingredient. Some packs of instant oatmeal are loaded with sugar.
-Be VERY careful when buying peanut butter. Peanuts should be the only ingredient(some may have a mild touch of salt). A lot of “healthy” peanut butters are basically hydrogenated oil and sugar.
-When buying a chocolate protein powder(or whatever flavor you chose), make sure you read the label. Some protein powders are GARBAGE! The one I am using in the above pic is only 120 calories, has 3 total grams of carbs, 2 grams of sugar, and 24 grams on protein per scoop. ALWAYS opt for low sugar protein powders.
